Unedo (Strawberry tree) Mediterranean origin, evergreen shrub, is a famous
ornamental tree with lovely strawberry-shaped fruit. The short trunk has rough
reddish-brown bark, which flakes off; the leaves are shiny dark green
ovate. Flowers are urn-shaped and white
or tinged with pink appearing in panicles to 5cm long as the strawberry-like
red fruits from the previous years' flowers ripen. The fruits are red and look
like strawberries. Although they look like strawberries, they aren't as tasty
as strawberries.
